You Can Go Your Own Way

I'm tired internet. While Griffin was in preschool today, Darwin and I went to Whole Foods and two thrift stores.

The first one was new to me. And I must say, any thrift store the plays David Bowie has got to be good. Seriously, I think I've found my best finds there. I got the boys a ton of books and some funky fabric (perhaps it was originally a window valance?); I had to restrain myself from purchasing $50 of stuff I really don't need. Then I went to my friend's favorite store and got a small milk glass pitcher, a robot dog for Griffin (he collects robots), a tea set for Darwin and a nine-sided block puzzle. I also got a couple of thing that I cannot mention yet, as they will be part of my super-secret slacker swap. I don't know if she'll like 'em, but she's gettin' 'em.

Anyway, here's our loot...

I love old-fashioned illustrations for children.

So after getting Griffin from preschool, we all immediately went to Ella's house. Ella is Griffin's girlfriend.

And no, I don't mean "girl friend," I mean "girlfriend."

They hug. They hold hands. The tell each other how much they love the other.

It takes all the willpower in my body not to run and grab a paper bag for hyperventalating. I guess I should be happy they aren't making out on the couch. But do they have to be acting like teenagers already?

So, yeah. I'm exhausted from all the shopping and from spending the afternoon panicking about how I'm not my son's number one girl anymore.

The teaset! The teaset! How cute is that little retro looking number? Pretty good finds for a day, huh?
Your bed comment cracked me up. Funny stuff. And what's this I hear about a super secret slacker swap? Say what? I have NO idea what you're talking about. 8-) Don't worry, she'll like it. That's part of the slacker swap. no stress, no worries, it's alllll good. Wumpy, flappy, snurp.

Have you been to the two across the street from Central Resource Library? One is the Catholic one and the other is for victims (mostly kids) of domestic violence.
