Are You Reelin' in the Years, Stowin' Away the Time?

It's back to the daily grind in our home.

I went to the dentist this morning to make my pearly whites pearlier. This afternoon I took Griffin to his preschool for a get-acquainted-party. School starts Tuesday.

I typically have the attitude of Sweet Baby Jesus, Thank you for it being back to school time, but when Steely Dan came on the radio, I got a little misty eyed.

Stupid fucking Steely Dan.

Never nind misty - eyed, bleary-eyed is more like it round here. I'm convinced we're never going to make it out of the house in time.

Ooohhh - pre-school! We start on Tuesday too, but it's not like we ever really stopped. So much for summer vacation.

And now I've got Reelin' in the Years stuck in my head. I wonder if there's any Steely Dan on our music server.....

Ahhh... I miss that preschool.

Sweet Griffin. Picked the boat this year, huh?

Take solice in knowing those sweet pre-schoolers grow into teenagers and you'll throw a party when school starts.

I hope you get back to normal and don't get sad about pre-school! I'm counting down the days until Tues when Jack goes back to Kindergarten and Mason goes to pre-school.

Yeah, Back to School brings tears to my eyes as well. Because I was always so freaking grateful.

Is this his first year of pre-school? After a good cry I hope you enjoy the break, and he enjoys his adventure.

SD is one of my favorite bands.
Saw them in concert about 10 years ago in Florida, and the power went out during Peg! But we all sat and waited and it returned, and they finished the song.

We'll be doing a parent's-day-out program this year, so I'm already getting a little misty about that. And it's only one day a week -- supposedly to help me de-stress. So why is it causing me stress? Have you guys done preschool before this year?

I am crackin myself up! I thought it was Stow'in away the tide.
LOL, like that ever made any sense.

I almost started to cry walking into Lu's second grade classroom and meeting his teacher. 2nd GRADE for crying out loud! Hopefully I will have this figured out by the time he enters highschool. :)

I've got the same schizophrenic feeling... can't wait for school/don't want them to grow up.

It's the same when I'm away from them. Love the time/hate the time.

They don't tell you this in the pregnancy/childcare books!

Awwww.. I still remember making an "apple" name badge for my stepson when he started kindergarten, and I pinned it on just like you did. That was a long time ago :-) Thanks for letting me remember!
