"Hey Laura, come here!"
"Yeah, Kathy?"
"Did you know there's a way to turn a turkey carcass into a sleigh?"
"Wha?"
"You can ::snapping bones:: turn a turkey ::snap:: into a sleigh. For Santa. See?"
"Uh, no..."
"Well, ::bones cracking:: I haven't broken off all the bones ::snap:: yet. There. That's better. See? You can turn it into a sleigh. You just boil it then you can decorate it. Like with glitter."
"Why the hell would I want to do that for?"
"BECAUSE YOU'RE CRAFTY, THAT'S WHY."

Now I seem to remember you had a thing for bones and glitter last month!
Go on, you could give it to her for Christmas.
This is bringing me out of lurking... you should totally boil it, glitter it, and give it to her for Christmas. Completely agree.
oh my god. I love how "crafty" is synonymous with "take this piece of crap and do something to make it not so crappy" or also known as "working miracles".
Good luck with your glittery turkey carcass!
Yuck!
Oh yeah, once the glitter is set, you will want to hang it from several strands of fish line with some huge ass ornaments....bwah ahahahahah. I am going link you on my blog so I can share you with my peeps.
Um. That's nice (?)
I do agree that you should give it to her for Christmas.
i draw the line at glittering carcasses!
Since when does crafty equate with bone snapping?
I htink I am missing it... I don't see a SLEIGH anywhere in the bones... maybe once the glitter is on it... but I'm thinking not...
Yep... agree... glitter it and give it to her for Christmas...
Lala :o)
gross capello. gross.
Someone told me to do that when I was a kid, and I went so far as to save the bone. But it was too gross for a craft project, so I never actually completed it. If I were to make a sleigh out of turkey bones, I'd be sure to cover it in tiny glitter skulls.
Oh dear.
Was I not right the other day...a coat of gold spray paint and some glitter...just makes everything more lovely?
OH...and you should totally put some macaroni on it.
and some nuts...
I just wrote out a reply and lost it!
I agree with giving it to her. Work your magic, girl. She'll love it and you get to check someone off your list.
Cheers! LA
you have now gone too far,
and i must RETCH.
holy crap that's scary
You never fail to cheer me up just when things look bleak! I too agree that it looks like a glittery present waiting to happen. Seriously love the macaroni idea to adorn the shiny new sleigh too! Teach them to call you Crafty wouldn't it?
My friend's mother, who grew up in Iowa, said this was something EVERYBODY did with their turkey carcass. Once decorated, it was used to hold Christmas cards.
I just noticed we both live in Overland Park, Kansas! LOL.
