My Future's So Bright... I Gotta Wear Shades

Griffin "graduated" from Speech classes today.

Yes, I cried. I'm so proud of him.

He loves speech class. Of all his activities, it is his favorite. But, being the smart little whipper snapper he is, he caught on quickly and got all of his language skills caught up. He still doesn't sound perfect, but he's not suppose to (you're not suppose to have all your sounds until you are eight or nine).

I can't believe speech classes are over.

Sigh.

Yesterday I got No Crafting Done. Unless you count the over two hours it took me to make a new recipe for dinner.

Does that count?

Anyway, I've been hittin' it hard today...

I got out the supplies I purchased at the Creating Keepsakes Convention and I've been covering the little wood album with paper made by Sweetwater.

I love this paper, it is very pretty... but I'm getting REALLY PISSED OFF AT IT.

Perhaps the pissiness has something to do with the dyes bleeding when it gets wet with the modge podge. Or maybe it has something to do with it bubbling up when I seal it with the modge podge. In any case, it is making me mad.

But it sure is purty.

I'll post completed photos of the covering soon. I'm gonna use this mini-album to chronicle all my craft projects this year.

Ooh, don't you keep a nice tidy work space! Love that circle paper especially.

And congrats to Griffin. One of Mark's proudest school achievements has been coming home and telling me he could say THink (as opposed to sink) now. I must admit, I secretly miss him sinking about things.

Pretty papers ya got there too. Good idea on preserving your crafting. Go you! Hope you get some good stuff done this weekend.

"Purty" reminds me of my Grandma Kleckner - gone, now, for 26 years. I just loved that woman.
One visit I slid on down the couch to cuddle real close, while she made me a blue skirt. Don't remember much of it -I was only 5 or so - but I have flashbacks to a lot of polyester. Anyway, either a cigarette was hanging outa her mouth or it was burning in the tray next to her... Yes, that's it... because I watched as her Red-stained lips pursed, and the lipstick seeped into the smoking-induced lines surrounding her mouth, and she said, "It's going to be so purty."
I love Purty Things.

Laura,

That is one good lookin' kid. He looks like you.

Do you wanna play at our park Monday if the weather is good?

You said you were going to create something every day, not craft every day. So cooking a new recipe for 2 hours -- oh yes, that counts. Especially if you were able to eat it after. The other day I cooked soup for 4 frickin hours and the damn beans still weren't done so I threw the whole pot down the garbage disposal. Dumb and true.

Oh and congrats to Griffin and you all!

Congrats to Young Griffin! Such a smart (and cute) little guy!

And as for that paper that's giving you fits? I bet you can kick its @$$.... You just go show that craft who's boss....

You can call me Betty, or Bethany, or Beth ...Just don't call me late for dinner. said...

cooking anything that takes longer than 20 minutes should count as craft.
just one woman's opinion.
