Griffin has been on "summer break" for two weeks now and we still trying to find our groove.
With the lackadaisical parenting I believe in (ahem), we have no plans this summer. No trips out of town, no camps, no sports, no activities.
Just lots of time to go to Science City, the pool, play with friends and go to Kaleidoscope.
I've never been a big fan of summer, but I'm working on it. I'm really, really working on it.

aww, come on, Summer loves you.
2 weeks to summer break here. Too many plans, too much crap to fix and on top of that it will be either hot or mosquito-y.. Ha! I hear ya sister!
But I hope that another cup of coffee will cheer me up. Because it is coming whether I am are ready or not.
Summer. grr.
I don't know if I'm envious that your summer break has started or happy that ours doesn't start for another 2 weeks!
Sometimes just relaxing and taking it easy is what kids need. Not a lot of planning and schedules. (Although a little wouldn't hurt, Laura! hee hee)
You'll find your groove yet...or you could do what a friend of mine used to do when it got too much for her...lock the kids outside (although, I will go on the record as saying that may be a little drastic!)
Our summer break starts today at 12:30. Am I ready? Oh hell no. But I'm going to have to whip up some kind of structure for my kids to keep them from killing each other (or me).
My only plans are the ones my husband drags me on. I will work on it too.
waving hello to tuckie!
I'm sorta not a fan of summer either. The boy is home more and I lose that piece and quiet during the day for 2 months. ugh./
Kaleidoscope looks great! Wish we had that in Minnie...
Here's to no plans for summer.
personally, I'm a HUGE fan of the laid-back, underplanned summer...
How cool is Kaleidoscope? I'm envious over here...
Not a fan of summer either. I don't remember minding it so much when I was a kid, all that freedom to do whatever I wanted and go wherever I wanted to all day.
But now that I'm a parent the rules have changed. i could go to jail for letting a six year old run around on his own.
Plus, all the heat. Last year I had lots of heat rashes. Nice. Max gets off of school in a couple of weeks and I'm scared.
i would totally be game for a trip into te city for kaliedaspoe and science city! we love crown center!
I've been meaning to tell you (this is totally un-post related) that when my son was little (he's 7 now, which isn't really big, but you know what I mean) he looked like a burn victim because he was allergic to the world too. I think he's pretty much grown out of it all, luckily, but I SO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM. I had one doctor tell me that I needed to just "use more lotion". Um, should I FEED it to him? Because I physically can't put any more on him. Anyway, hang in there!!!!
Oh please.Try summer here. Where it a zillion fucking degrees and you literally burn your ass off whenever you get in the car and the heat feels like it's CRUSHING you into the ground and you skin is thirsty...so thirsty...I hate living in this god forsaken desert. Other than that. I love summer. Summer somewhere else. Barefoot days (not here) fresh lemonade days (here) pool days (for like 5 minutes here) picnic days (HA!) kite flying days (again - HA!).
*sigh*
I really gotta move.
