Runnin' On Empty

The ice came yesterday.

This photo was taken one hour into the freezing rain. I got ice in my eye while taking it.

This morning we awoke to three-quarters of an inch of ice covering everything. Griffin proclaimed, "it's a Chirstmas Miracle! Santa is on his way!" And now we are in a full knock-down discussion of putting up the tree and the lights and making cookies to leave out for Santa.

No school today, thankfully. Aaron cleaned off my car but still. I nearly fell four times yesterday, bringing back horrible memories and fears from the last time I fell.

Supposedly we are suppose to get five to eight inches of snow on top of the ice today. The weather is obviously trying to kick the holiday spirit into me.

Today is the last day of NaBloPoMo, blessed be. Good lordy. Its over. Over.

Congrats girl...what will we do if you stop posting every day? NO daily laughs? It will be up to us to provide that for ourselves? That's rather unfair. I DO think you should reward yourself with a wonderful snack...something wheat free, dairy free, refined sugar free...you know, do it up!!

Rats...for the ice...yay for the snow! If we ever get snow this year, I will be quite happy...instead, I will have to enjoy walking to work in 15 degrees instead.

Aw, but I'll miss your posts every day!

I'm supposed to drive to work in a couple hours. I didn't know we were getting that much snow. Great.

You can call me Betty, or Bethany, or Beth ...Just don't call me late for dinner. said...

Yikes the ice is scaring me with my postmenapausal hips.

I fear the coming of ice too because of my hip-breaking incedent a year and a half ago...so I was thinking I should invent a shoe/boot type thing that grabs onto the ground as you walk, kind of like robotic fingers for traction. Maybe there could be a dial to control the amount of grabbing...

But what if the robotic device develops a mind of it's own and won't let go of the ground when you want to go? No one wants to argue with their shoes because then no one will ever talk to them again for fear that they will be sucked into a stark raving mad world of ground grabbing shoes.

I'll have to rethink that one. But yay for the snow, right?! Mine's gone but I'm happy for others to get to frolick in it!

I really liked the everyday posting thing. I will miss it if it stops.

I like the robotic foot finger idea, but I'm sure my kids would find a way to steal the foot fingers and use them for evil purposes. For now, we are staying inside, and watching people try to drive up our street. One woman did make it, but she had to keep getting out and pouring sand on the ice every few feet. Can't wait for that heavy snowfall on top of the ice, huh-uh.

The snow sounds great to me - but must be a nightmare - over here we are so not geared up for that type of weather that half an inch of snow and the country goes into meltdown! Be careful with that foot.

We are still having spring-like weather. It is supposed to be 70 tomorrow -- in MARYLAND!!! Then your cold, wintry stuff is heading our way.

And I forgot to tell you that I almost fell on some "nature" the other day in my new high heels. I thought of you as soon as I put my foot down and started to slide! I was fearing I'd end up with your injuries!!!!

We were supposed to get freezing rain too, but it missed us by a couple degrees and a couple of miles. Whew!
With your luck, why in the world would you even go outside in slippery weather?

Wow - Kansas has some freaky weather, that's for sure...

I almost wish that we'd get some ice (but not enough to knock out my Internet connection...) I'd love an excuse to stay all snuggled inside and get caught up on my blog reading!

(I just now learned that you've been blogging all along - for some reason it was not showing up in Bloglines, and it never occurred to me to come here and check it out for myself. SFBloglines for acting wonky. SFMe for not being smart enough to investigate for myself! I knew it was too quiet over here!)

no more falling! I can't remember you missing a single day of posting in more than a year. Is it my imagination? Or do you post pretty much everyday regardless of this commitment. PS I finished the book.

Yes but you can't stop posting every day. Because I say so. K?

OK, WTF? This just showed up as a new post. I'm so relieved to see that it's from 2006 and there really isn't ice outside.
