"Aaron."
"Yeah?"
"Do you realize that we've been together for ten years now?"
"No, we haven't."
"Yes, we have. We met face-to-face the first weekend in November ten years ago."
"No, we didn't."
"Yes, we did. It was 1996. I was 19. You were 24. Ten years ago."
::eyes pop out:: "It's 2006?"
"Um, last time I checked, yeah."
"Holy crap, that's a long time."
"Love you too, honey."

wow congratulations. Men are sooo romantic aren't they?
Awwww. That's sweet. I have moments like that, too. Oh, crap! What year it is?
So, you're 29? Youngster! :) I hope it has been a happy ten years! We aren't at the ten-year together mark yet -- that's next year.
wow!! a decade! time flies, huh?
oh my you two are young'uns!!!
(joe and i were just talking how our oldest will be 10 in december! time flies!!!)
Ahhh. It IS sweet. Congrats.
(Amy's right- you are a youngster.)
Only 29 and yet the wisdom of a woman 10 times that age, the ass of a girl ten years younger, and a husband that's pretty much like the rest of them when it comes to marking time... You go girl!
It is a long time, isn't it? It boggles my mind that I first dated my husband in '94. (Of course, I shunned him during '95 and '96, but he wormed his way back into my good graces eventually. Men!)
Reminds me of Pete on Tuesday this week saying, " Today is Frida..no wait...Wednesd...oh fuck, who cares anyway."
But I think he does know what year it is.
My husband always says something like, what 6 years, feels like 60.
Ten years is a long time, huh? It was our 11 year anniversary that seemed especially huge to me, and now we're coming up on 15. And since we started dating when I was 16, we've been together for more than half my life...now that's weird!
Crappy Anniversary! (I can say that, you know me well enough to know that it's heartfelt...)
I didn't realize you were 29! Toddler!
(LLA slinking off, suddenly feeling old....)
kisses!
Hee hee. Funny conversation. And yes, you are a young thing...enjoy it, honey. Someday you'll be an old thing like myself.
I met David in 1986 -- I just realized a few weeks ago that the anniversary of our first date is approaching. 20 years. 20!!!!!!!!!! I totally understand how you feel.
Congrats! Well think of it this way atleast he wasn't talking about stripers. ;)
Oh my god, you're 29? I feel so very old now.
