Dreams Unwind

Am I the only person having a difficult time getting into the holiday spirit?

Anyone? Anyone?

Sigh.

Granted, we've had freakishly warm weather lately. Which will end today with a supposed winter weather advisory. Awesome.

Bulbs are mandatory in this house during the winter. I haven't gotten to properly garden since last spring. Damn that stupid fucking foot incident.

So, anyway, I'm trying. Okay? I'm trying to get into the spirit.

Bulbs are a good idea. I am still trying to get into the holiday spirit, but the kids and I have neverending colds and are very cranky. Bah humbug!

You'll feel it more when the weather really turns. I don't know that I'm really feeling it, but because of my job I kind of have to be in the middle of the hype.

I'm so envious of the bulbs. I think I'm going to have to get myself some. I actually know how you feel about the stupid foot. I missed a whole canning season a year ago because of breaking my hip. But just think, this year you will be able to make up for lost time!

Yea, I'm not feelin' it yet. Despite a trip to the plaza lights, adopting a holiday family for work and organizing our office drawing. But come Friday.... bring on December and all its frivolity!

Oh, beautiful blubs. I always want to do the same thing for winter, and before I know its spring. Dang it, missed AGAIN. Maybe this will be the year.

Ack, ice is *not* awesome. I'm perfectly happy to be Christmasy in 65-degree weather, thanks. :) Man, I see ice on the trees...bah.

I was not in the spirit until I found a store selling "Heat Miser" and "Snow Miser" dolls from the christmas movie "The Year Without A Santa Claus". Now I can't get enough Christmas.

I love hyacinths! They are so pretty in the middle of winter. I also love my African violets. Have you tried those? Mine seem to bloom all year. You’ll get into it more once it gets colder. As my boss pointed out the other day Thanksgiving was really early this year too, so that might have something to do with it. I think that a lot of people are having a hard time getting into it this year. Me included. See your not alone!

Wow! You have a HYACINTH!! I just have dirt. Dry dirt. And yesterday it was 44 degrees C at the airport which is less than 2 km from my house. I. want. to. die.

I agree...it was finally cold today here...it's 25 with tons of wind...perfect for Xmas decorating (I however, am eating soup and drinking tea) I haven't put the tree up yet because I can't figure out where in the room to put it...and no lights outside yet...sigh. And I live in AZ's Xmas city (barf)

Bulbs are good.
It is still November, right? And the wacky weather doesn't help. It'll come to you soon enough. ;)

Nope, no spirit here... I'm not even going through the motions right now. I suppose I should since I have a 4yo who will be asking where the Christmas stuff is and how is Santa going to know where we are without lights ablaze?!
