She Couldn't Quite Explain it

"I'm an idiot. I stayed up until 3am last night."

"What the hell were you doing, Aaron?"

"Well, I was working on ideas for Griffin to learn his letters and numbers better."

"Uh-huh..."

"And then I was thinking it would be really cool to correlate the colors of the numbers to resistor color codes."

"Huh?"

"To color the numbers, zero through nine, to the resistor color codes. Because, you know, Griffin needs to learn that too."

"Yeah. A five year old really needs to learn electrical wiring shit along with his letters and numbers."

"Hey, don't make fun of me. The sooner he has exposure, the better. How else are we gonna raise mega-nerds?"

How thoughtful of him...so this is where mega-nerds come from? I love it!! And the man deserves a nap.

If you want to get all montessori you can correlate parts of speech with shapes and colors. Get him diagraming sentences early.

Now that's just ridiculous. What G really needs is to learn his purine and pyrimidine bases, to give him a head start on gene splicing. :)

i wish you had a 7 yo boy - then someday our nerdy kids could marry and produce uber-geek children.

He's got a point, you know - mega- nerds don't just happen...

Oh sure, you might get lucky and end up with a regular old garden variety nerd. But a mega-nerd? That's hard work, there...

(and since Schecky's colorblind, I guess we'll have to take a pass on this particular form of mega-nerd training...)

Well done, Aaron. You win the Mega-Nerd Of All Time Award. And, believe me, you had plenty of competition from my family.

We bow before your Supreme Nerdness.

LOL. Are you absolutely positive Aaron is not smoking something that keeps him up too late and thinking too much? are you? hmmmmmmmmm....

LOVE your new banner. Well, it's new to me anyway.

You can call me Betty, or Bethany, or Beth ...Just don't call me late for dinner. said...

Okay... all of a sudden my trying to get Jacob to concentrate by teaching him Gilbert and Sullivan song lyics sounds geeky.

That is the difference between us. geek VS nerd.
Griffin will likely have a much better paying job.
Jake will wait tables and do community musical theatre.
btw: got your hoops.. ;)
