I Got a Reputation - Uh Huh Huh

"Mommy, we don't say bad words in this family."

"That's right."

"We put our noses in the corner."

"Yep."

"We don't say bad words like stupid."

"That's correct, Griffin."

"If I say that bad word I put my nose in the corner."

"Yes."

"Or like yesterday, when Darwin bit your finger and you screamed motherfucker. You still haven't put your nose in the corner yet, Mom."

Uh-oh...go put your nose in the corner!

(why is it you can remember these things in your childhood, but not often you own phone number, or how to spell certain words?)

sometimes children remember the rules better than adults. most of the time *not* though. only when it's convenient for them.

Funny, funny! I am surprised -- not at your language, but that you use the corner for language. :) I was kind of assuming a language free-for-all in your house. I still have not decided how big a no-no language should be. I guess we should figure that out. So far when I say "goddamn iPod" all that gets repeated is "iPod! iPod! iPod!"

Why do I always laugh when I read your blog. I don't swear much and we have lots of rules about it in this house. Yet here I am getting a kick...Maybe there is a side to me I don't know very well. Thanks for the chuckle, well actually it was quite a belly laugh!
