One, Two, Three, Four, Come on Baby Say You Love Me, Five, Six, Seven Times

Griffin has decided to turn into my daily affirmation guru. Everyday, since New Year's day, he wakes up with a resounding, "Mommy! Today is a new day!"

This morning at breakfast he continued to proclaim, "Today is a new day! It is a beautiful day outside, Mom." (Mom? Mom? What happened to Mommy?) (And "beautiful"? The sky is gray and everything is brown right now, it is Kansas in January after all.) (Speaking of which, where the hell is my snow? I want snow. It is January. Give me snow.) "Look at all the beautiful plants, Mom. It's gonna be a great day!"

With a kid like this, I don't need no stinking Stuart Smalley.

Wow - "Mom" already?

Schecky experimented with "Mom" a little bit ago. He announced his intention to call me "Mother" instead of "Mommy". Weird, hmmm? But then, he promptly forgot (and I saw no need to remind him....)

I think it's sweet, though, that you've got your own little optimist!

What a sweetie pie. Send him over here to give my kids some attitude lessons, would ya?

Oh! I had one of these.

Then he turned 10 and became Chicken Little.

Enjoy it!

Of course he's right it is a beautiful new day xxx

Can I borrow him for an hour or so? A good hour or so.

I love the perspective children have. When my boys pray, they always say, "thank you for this beautiful day," even it is flooding outside! I guess any day you wake up and are still alive is either a "beautiful day" or a "new day."

(we haven't had a lick of snow at all this season!)

Think I could learn a lesson from your little guy! What a sweetie...

Audrey went from Mommy to Mother to Mama...have to say I kind of liked the Mother...just so darn cute coming from such a little kid! Emma's just stuck with Mama.

Oh yes...Stuart S. was wonderful! And I hope you get your snow soon...we're supposed to get some tonight and tomorrown...I can't tell you how excited I am, except maybe you would be too!

He's a smart one -- I could use a dose of that in the morning!

Maybe my wishes for warm, sunny weather are counteracting your wishes for snow, and we just end up somewhere in the middle with a cool ick.

You know, that good attitude thing goes down much better than the daily affirmation squashing Max does around here.

Yes, where's snow? I don't have a right to expect more snow here in the PNW, but I want some too!

I hope you get more snow.
