Not. Functioning. Brain. Not. Functioning.
I lost that cord-y thing that connects the computer to my camera. And so I can't download pictures off my camera. This is not computing in my brain, what the fuck do you mean I can't download the pictures off my camera? Must download! Must download! Must download now!
Of course, this is all exacerbated by the fact that Aaron's still out of town.
You see, we have an agreement in our relationship: I lose shit, he finds it. It works out really well. I get to be my natural scatter-brained self (I get it from my dad; trust me, he's way worse) and Aaron gets to have his ego boosted by finding my lost shit because I give him lots of praise. It's a win-win situation.
Of course, I had a post all planned out in my head to talk about this new... thing on my neck. I don't know what bit me or what happened but it is gross and it is huge. Of course I wanted to share. So I took some pictures and now I can't download them. Argh!
Today is much better... actually, yesterday got better after Darwin and I got our chiropractic adjustments. And it's amazing what a shot of ouzo can do to improve someone's mood (and don't think for a second that I didn't consider giving the kids some too).
Before doing that, though, I took the boys to buy new shoes.
"Griffin, do you like these or these?"
"Mommy, I don't care what they look like AS LONG AS THEY LIGHT UP."
"Darwin, do you like these or these?"
"No! No!"
"How about these?"
"No!"
"These?"
"No!"
"These?"
"No! Like these! Like these!" ::carrying pink Mary Janes::
See? I totally deserved that ouzo.
(There's a few weekend photos over on flickr.)

Aw, come on, Laura! You didn't let him get the pink mary janes? Aw man!
lol - boys can wear pink too...can't they> don't tell me they can't. oh crap.
Don't you just love it when they learn the word "no"? If it's any consolation (I'm guessing it won't be), William would have totally gone for the pink shoes a year ago. He would have insisted on sequins, though.
I wish I could help you find the lost cable, but I'm in the category that loses things too.
Funny how much I love listening to you complain. But no gross neck bite shots? Sucks.
what the -? I am SO not anonymous! But it won't give me another choice. Bugger.
Katurah
Only one shot of ouzo?
So? Did he get the shoes? ;-)
Glad your day improved and that your friend ouzo helped.
Did Katurah just say "bugger"? he he. I love it. ;-)
I am the one at my house who finds things. Everyone loses things and makes me find them. Where is this? Where is that? Now I need some Ouzo!
Oh My gosh! Shoe shopping! That totally reminds me of when Lucas eye'd the really tacky transformer shoes. I headged him away several times, but he kept begging for them. I tried to explain that they were tacky. He excitedly tells me "but momma, I love tacky"
so we bought the shoes. Gawd they were ugly. I need to do a layout of that. :)
Why don't they make grown up shoes that light up??
Eek! sorry about your neck! Do you think it's a bite? better have it looked at!
I remember my oldest (now 12) went through a real mean-to-other-kids phase when he was little. He's sweet now, so they CAN grow out of it!
Thanks for commenting regularly. Whatta pal!
You so crack me up. I'm glad that you have a finder. I am the finder here and often find myself bitter over it. Like people, put your shit where it belongs. They can always find my stuff, its where it should be. I could go on.. but I'll control myself. I just so totally love Darwin.
Around here, Bubba is not only the finder, but the killer of large spiders, too. Very useful skills...
First of all - who can blame Darwin, he has excellent taste in shoes! Seriously, I would wear those in a heartbeat (assuming I could find them in a size 10! I gots some big ole feet....)
Second of all, I love the contrast between your two kids: Griffin is all "whatever", while Darwin is far more specific. I do like that they both have definite ideas about what they want.
(Oh, and they do make light up shoes for grownups - I saw a pair of Translucent Clear Acrylic high heeled sandals this summer in DSW. The heels (a nice chunky 3 inch one, at that) flashed with multi-colored lights. I had always said that if they made light up shoes for grownups, I was so getting a pair. However, these proved even too tacky for me. Which is saying something...)
Those mary janes are sweet! hehe.
And somehow I'm ok with no pictures of your neck thingy. Just saying.
Oh, but the shoes are so cute. He'd look just precious!
I'm ok with the no pic too. ;)
i had this book called the mothers almanac when my kids were little (years ago) and they called from 4 to 6 the arsenic hours, and also the gin and bourbon hours because by that time of day every mother wants to either have a drink or give their kids arsenic. lol
