Everytime You Go Away, You Take a Piece of Me With You

Aaron called ten minutes ago to say he's got a flight at 7:10 tonight for an emergency business trip.

Well. That's just super.

We're looking at Tuesday? Wednesday? Thursday? Seventeen years? Before he'll come home.

Gah.

So yeah. This little bit of news has pretty much wiped my brain clear of anything else to say.

Oh hey, I do have one more thing to say. Especially since this post is pretty much a bust anyway. Gah.

So, opinions from you all would be very nice.

My recipe site is pretty much a bust. This is mainly caused by the fact that I'm an extreme lazy ass and WordPress royally pisses me off. I absolutely cannot get it to do what I want it to do easily and basic life functions - taking care of the kids, laundry, working, freelance writing, gardening, picking underwear out of my butt - has just made it so adding the task of figuring out WordPress is just too damn much.

So, my question to you all is -- should I start a new (free!) (easy!) blog (here on blogspot) (remember! I'm lazy) for talking about food allergies in detail, about how we cope with the food allergies in detail, do food reviews in detail and post seriously easy, yummy recipes in detail (and yo, I've got the best name for it already: SHUT UP AND EAT).

OR

Should I just post all that stuff here?

Hmmmmm... what do you all say?

I don't know. What do you want this blog to be? If you posted all of that here would it turn into only that?? I'm pretty sure I'd still read it either way . . . cause you freakin' crack me up!

no, it wouldn't turn into JUST that. all that would just get added to the mix of my standard craziness.

I think starting a new one with blogger. But remind us here when you post anything new.

I say Aaron's a bust...

grumble...although, I can't imagine he wants to go on an emergency business trip...

AND...I think a new blog is a great idea, as putting it in with this one may be too overstimulating (you know, for me at least) Rich is a Wordpress genius, but I don't get it all...it seems too detailed...I love the name you came up with too!

(have you ever noticed that if you accidentally screw up the word verification it punishes you by adding a "word" that is twice as long?)

It sounds like you need to make one of these... http://www.craftzine.com/blog/archive/2007/10/missing_husband_pillow.html?CMP=OTC-5JF307375954

I just recently (last week maybe?) referred my sister's SIL to your other blog, whose son has Celiac's. I noticed you hadn't updated it in a long time. ;-)

My opinion is to keep it separate from this blog. However, I tried that with my separate sewing blog and I think I last updated that thing in May. Oops.

You can call me Betty, or Bethany, or Beth ...Just don't call me late for dinner. said...

Shut Up and Eat on blogger sounds like a winner to me.

i'm a wee bit OCD about these things & prefer the subjects separate. But, I run two blogs and it is a pain. in. my. ass. :)

Just do whatever is easiest, and suits your busy, ass-picking routine the best......

I think seperate would be better, but if you're not going to be able to maintain both blogs well, then they should be combined. No point doing something that's just going to add to your workload and drive you nuts!

Good Luck.

Oh stick it in here. Life's too short to run 2 blogs. you can always fut it all in one place when you get your book deal.

What is it with husbands. Mine has just engineered a little trip to Spain for half-term (again!)

I don't mind either way; I'd read both. I'd be interested to hear about all the food allergy stuff. Just one more blog into the bloglines if you went separate!

Post it all here, add labels to those posts, add a list of labels on the side, that way people can find it. I think that would be the easiest solution. Plus, since this blog is already established the information would show up better on search engines.

My vote is a new blogger blog. But if it's too much time to manage a 2nd blog, just make a new category for it. Shut up and eat is a great name.

I can see that most people are voting for separate blogs,if you do that then I think your new blog title is GREAT!

However, I tried running separate blogs and in the end they're all me and I'm not separate people so I've decided on keeping it all on one blog. I think you should do the same because every time someone I routinely read makes a new blog I completely forget it exists FOREVER.

I vote for unification. Plus it's easier.

That sucks about the sudden business trip.

one blog. with a major warning of that day's subject content before diving in to a long diatribe of something or other. it's your blog, your life do whatever makes you happy!

I've got some o.k. gluten free bread recipes. And I absolutely love making gluten free cookies and cakes...they usually taste better than the regular stuff because they're so tender and flaky.

One of my favorite teachers here is coming out with a gluten free baking book soon, and I have a recipe in it! What kinds of things do you usually make?

I would read Shut Up and Eat and I don't even have food allergies. But since your husband is going to be gone for the next 17 years, maybe you should do Shut Up and Eat Mondays on this blog. Until your husband comes home. Then you can start another blog AND solve the global warming.

post it here! a lot easier for you and we can read it all in one place.

Honestly - I think you should do whatever works best for *YOU* - if that's combining them, then by all means do so.

However, that having been said, I do have to say that "SHUT UP AND EAT" is a fab name, and it's almost a shame not to use it. And there may be some people who could totally benefit from all the info that you have to share, but whom may not get your total grooviness that you freely share here. Like the terrific use of song lyrics for post titles. Or the occasional f-bomb...

It would be a shame not to use that name though! So I think starting a new one might be a good idea, but definitely little reminders of new posts would be cool:)
