Anxiety Was Bringing Me Down

Ever get so bogged down with the daily schematics of life that you wish you could just vomit all the anxiety out of yourself?

Unfortunately, THAT NEVER QUITE WORKS OUT FOR ME.

And don't think I have tried. Puking is a very cleansing ritual for me.

We are in the midst of some financial reconstruction over here. Dealing with the fallout of massive medical bills (nothing we aren't use to, they are just so much). Talking of new ways to making our finances grow, making our debts shrink, changing the way we spend money.

You know, dealing with the stuff in life that makes being an adult suck ass.

Hey, look! An actual zinnia!

In other news, Griffin has become obsessed with something new...

"Mommy? If I win? I want you to walk around in your underpants all day."

"Huh?"

"I want you to walk around in your underpants all day."

"Uh... why do you want me to walk around in my underpants all day?"

"Because I want you to."

Uh... is this part of the whole Oedipus complex thing? Because I just can't figure this shit out.

Also, am I the only damn person that didn't spend the weekend reading Potter? I went the slacker-nerdy way and read the whole damn synopsis over at Wikipedia on Saturday morning. I haven't read any of the other books (slacker!) but I was dying to know what happened (nerd!).

Yeah, being a grown up is not nearly as fun as I thought it would be but it sure is better than high school. -shudder-

Damn this being an adult! After my divorce I had all sorts of fun getting all the things I ALONE wanted, it was like I was trying to prove that I could do it. The only thing that I was proving was that I could freak out when my credit card bill came...I had to rethink some things, and it was a lot better in the tummy (although I didn't loose weight as fast without all the throwing up...just kidding)

I've got my HP book to take to the shop today...but I was so pissed and sad about the ending of the last one, I'm not feeling too excited about this, I just want some closure...

Yeah, the grown up gig sucks. But Harry Potter.. now that rules. Me and my nerd love it.

Well, for me, even at the worst of times, being a grown-up is way better than being a kid. No psychotic/abusive step fathers to avoid at all costs, a wonderful SAFE home and a chance to make it all happen the right way for my girls.

They money thing is always a challenge and overwhelming, but at the end of it, when you get everything straightened out and all your ducks in a row, I'll bet you'll have a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Just remember to keep breathing... and that everything, no matter how uncomfortable, is temporary.

I haven't read any of the HP books either. You are not alone.

I hope you find something to help alleviate your anxiety. What's that you always drink? Ouzo? (Is that what it's called?)

As long as you didn't pencil a lightning bolt on your forehead for the whole day, like my 43 year old SIL... what the?

I thought I was the only one not in on the whole Harry Potter thing.

About all that financial crap - I just ignore it. Yeah, I'm such a grown up.

Ooooh, you're such a Harry Potter cheat!!
Good luck with all the financial crap!

And the question on everyones lips - did he win? And I am so tempted to just check out that summary and ditch the whole reading thing.

Because I've read 'em and I want to know what happens, but I have to confess to not really being that passionate about the whole thing.

No, you're not alone. My house is a HP-free zone. I read the first one, hated it and haven't read any others. Blech.

I haven't read the book either. In fact, I haven't read books 2, 3, 4 and 5. I've seen all the movies, though. John is trying to convert me into the Harrypotterism, but I have other books in my list. :-)

Now, about the anxiety... I have no magical cure for it. I suffer from it more often than not. I just hope you will figure out anything you need in order to feel better.

Cheers!

That is funny! Maybe he just wants you to be comfortable. :)

I haven't read any of the Potter books either, but I want to. So, I will just read the last one when I get that far.

I'm choosing to block out my sucky-finances, so as to be an adult about it. ;^)
I didn't read HP either. You're not alone.

Dude, I'm glad that anxiety can't be fixed by vomiting because I fear vomiting like you would not believe.

I'm right there with you on the anxiety though and for me a terrible inertia has also settled in.

And finances make me want to die.

It's possible I'm being a little over dramatic.

Being an adult sucks big time. Money (and the lack of it) also sucks big time. But I don't think I'm really an adult yet. I got my HP book yesterday afternoon (two days late thanks to the misbegotten camping trip we took last weekend), and postponed reading the comments to this post until I'd finished it so I could avoid seeing any spoilers. HP rocks.

I did read Harry Potter this weekend. Although I didn't start reading the Harry Potter series until just a couple months ago. I didn't want to join in the craze... too late now though:)
