Meow, Meow, Meow-wow-wow-wow

So, surely by now you've heard about that batshit crazy lady who delivered EIGHT babies and had six at home, right? Right.

And she moved into her parents' two-bedroom house.

And she's not married.

And she filed bankruptcy and has no job.

And all babies are with IVF from one donor who supposedly doesn't know his spunk was used for all these kids.

And her mom is all IZ GONNA LEAVE TOWN, I AIN'T TAKIN' CARE OF NO 14 BABIES. And her dad is supposedly gonna go work in Iraq so he can help financially support his grandchildren.

Right? Right.

So, now, of course she wants to charge two million dollars for interviews. She wants to be on Oprah and the Today show. She also wants her own reality-show, something along the lines of how to be a good mom or daycare provider or some shit like that.

And to all this, I say fuck no.

Fuck no
to having litters of children.

Fuck no to the medical profession implanting eight embroys in her womb.

Fuck no to her using her children for celebrity, fame and money.

And you have to wonder: was this her intention? Her "way" to become famous? And we, as a society, are falling into her trap?

Fuck no. If she's on anything and gets paid for it I'M NOT WATCHING. I will not support her batshit crazy behavior and as far as I'm concerned she needs some serious medicial councelling.

At least the Duggers have always taken care of their children, haven't relied on the government for supporthing their kids. Yes, they maybe crazy too but at least it's RESPONSIBLE crazy.

I'm right there with ya, sista! It makes me sick that a doctor would abuse his power and knowledge for that bullshit. I feel so sorry for those poor babies who had no say in the matter.

I TOTALLY agree with you. All the women in the the world who'd LOVE just ONE baby but can't afford invitro, or sperm donors. It's CRAZY! And yes, I TOTALLY think she did it for the money and fame. Maybe not 100% completely, but she certainly knows she has a cash cow there.

Amen, sista! Say it like it is.

While I agree with crazy momma there, I think the Duggars are bad too. Are they not using their natural reproductive powers to suck in reality tv watchers??

I never see the Duggar mom do any work. She is always smiling that vacant smile and distressing about how she can't help because she is pregnant again. All the kids do all the work, cook, clean, care for each other, etc.

Just my 2 cents.

um...I must be really tired. What I meant to say was that I agree the mom with the 14 children is a little crazy.......

Apologies! :)

I could have said this all myself. Including all the F words.
I even hate John and Kate as well. When do those kids not have a camera in their face.
Bleh.

holy crap I didn't know half that stuff! People magazine has really let me down. Now I'm burning to find out more...

I couldn't have said it better myself. YOU live in the U.S. I live in CANADA - if she lived here, she would get free healthcare and welfare benefits and probably free housing. All for being socially irresponsible and a fruitcake. The newspaper quoted her mother as saying (I paraphrase), "She always loved children. I wish she had become a kindergarten teacher." Hmmmm...

I just learned about this yesterday. I totally agree with you.

there has to be more laws about assisted reproduction. It's crazy because good normal folks who want to adopt one child have to jump through hoops to be approved and it takes years!
I really liked this post.
I was watching Larry King earlier and there were a panel of folks weighing in on the issue.
what boggles me the most is with no job and apparently no husband who paid for all the fertility treatments?! (all the kids were IVF)

You can call me Betty, or Bethany, or Beth ...Just don't call me late for dinner. said...

I hear you on this one. It is just insane when people pull this kind of stunt and stand to prosper from it. Why would we put anyone in the limelight when they're showing their crazy this much?! I was appalled when I learned she is going for book deals, TV time, and is charging money for interviews...does ANYONE even realize that there are children's lives and well being at stake as well? Poor babies. Then again...maybe it shouldn't be this surprising considering this person's particular past?

And I also agree with Rebecca F. as well...

I just feel so sorry for those poor children. They are on the road to some serious therapy, if not foster homes.

Couldn't agree with you more. Well said.

ABSOLUTELY the way I feel!! What kind of dr would do this? Those poor kids - not just the new 8, but the original 6.

Pop a collar and preach it sista! You get an amen from my corner!

that's some crazy shit, no? i feel badly for the babies. the first 6 who will probably be shoved aside so mama (or whoever) can take care of the 8 teeny-tinies.

i wonder if insurance paid for the fertility. makes me a bit fluffed to think it did, since it isn't medically necessary to do it and my insurance rates and coverage are affected by this.

i truly hope all of the children come out on top in the end and that mama doesn't get the fame and fortune she expected.

From someone who knows - a transferred frozen embryo has a 20-30% chance of implanting. I do not believe this was IVF. My guess is she got black market metformin, stimulated the bejebus out of her ovaries and went out and found a daddy. I just don't believe it was IVF.

This woman obviously has some sort of mental/emotional issues. They screen plastic surgery patients for this kind of thing, isn't "assisted child bearing" even MORE worthwhile screening? Yahoo has an interesting article link about how the state of California is paying for all of this... (sorry i don't have the link) What she needs more than babies is someone responsible to help her get some counciling... EVERYONE here seems to have been negligent.
(By the way, I do so love your blog!)

i just love you. i agree! i'd grab me some teenage foster kids addicted to crack who are mentally retarded before i'd do IVF. joel keeps saying he wants me to have twins and i put a voodoo curse on that statement.

Hells yes!!! I'm on the boat with you on this one!! Good grief, people and their ideas! aggggg! It should never have even been considered to get her prego again! I'm all for NOT supporting her by watching ANYTHING she's on!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!! She wants to be BFF with Angelina Jolie...whci apparently has scared the shit out of Angelina. At least Angelina can afford to have 14 kids!

I rather feel sorry for the donor...you know that even though he signed the waiver, the state is gonna come after him. Sorry guy, you'll never get to choose parenthood on your own and any woman who marries you can forget it too
