Somewhere there is a mom not unlike myself who will remember that moment as I remember the moment in preschool (Frankie age 18mo's) where everyone was looking at shapes and one little girl said look mom, its a rhombus.
Now imagine the swearing.
OMG that is hilarious! I would have witnessed that and went home and told my dh that our kid is way behind cause he could care less about the shiny paper. LOL
Way to go Darwin! (and mom and dad for teaching him)

That's awesome! As a math and science teacher I LOVE it. I would have wanted to hug the mother of the rhombus girl.
You and Pam totally have me laughing. I don't think my kid is any genius but he has an impressive vocabulary and we've had quite a few moments like these.
don't you just love when your kid says something so intelligent that people stare in awe? when my older sister was 3 years old (or younger; i always forget, but she couldn't've been more than 3), she was in a store with Pop, who was quizzing her on shapes. there was a tall mirror that was a bit narrower at the top than at the base. she looked hard at it and said, "trapezoid."
mind you, this is the same girl who could identify every local tree species at that age. she needed to know specifics about everything. if you told her that the pointy tree with needle-like leaves and weird-looking brown things was a "tree", she'd look at you like you were crazy when you said the brown pole with lots of pink flowers was also a "tree".
