This Doesn't Have to be Anything at All

It's Friday night, Aaron was suppose to be home from a business trip on Tuesday afternoon.

Is he home yet?

Uh... nope.

But in a few hours he'll be here. Or, at least, he better be.

I knew with the new year we were going to get back to "business as usual" which means an "assload of traveling for Aaron" because that's what he does. Travel. A lot.

We're easing into winter here, wishing for snow (at least some of us are) - besides, what's the point in horribly cold temperatures if we can't have the fluffy stuff?

I've been going around the house today, taking stock of our houseplants. They seem to be multiplying. And not flowering. Am I the only onewho needs flowers around? Especially in winter?

Hopefully these will help. Soon. Come on and spout little fellas!

So on Tuesday I had this cockamainey idea that I was going to get my ass in gear with exercise and diet. Oh my hell. I do believe I'm dying. After hearing a few people talk about it, I started doing 30 Day Shred. I do believe Jillian is a succubus sent up from hell to provide massive amounts of torture on my body. But after doing the video for three days in a row and massive amounts of muscle achiness, my pants are loose. So I should probably stop my bitchin'.

Tomorrow I'm suppose to go learn how to knit. I'm both excited and scared - I want to know how to knit but I'm afriad adding another craft to my repertoire will make me become even more behind on everything I want to accomplish.

It's hard having so many damn interests, yo.

Take some drugs(the Advil or whatever works for you kind) if you are gonna be sitting for a while during your knitting lesson. Since you've just started exercising like a fiend you will be stiff and sore from the nervousness and stillness(because learning to knit will make you tense). I know this from experience!

Loose pants? Sign me up! I've been trying to knit lately, and have to say, am loving it. Will I get behind on other things? Hell yeah. Would I have gotten behind anyway on other things? Hell yeah.

I have found that knitting goes where my other crafts do not (i.e. in front of the TV, or while watching the kids play). So it doesn't really cut into my craft time. Er, it wouldn't if I HAD any craft time. :)

Knitting is a sanity saver.. and if you run into troubles you can always turn to the knitting help website, it's always there :)

I love knitting, it is very relaxing (but it can be a time suck). I have been doing the 30 Day Shred (I just finished Day 14 today)and tracking my progress/thoughts on the sidebar of my blog. It is a killer after so much just sitting around, but I am seeing quick results as well. Aleve was my best friend for the first 4 days.

Good luck!

That does sound like a killer workout. I have been exercising some, though not as faithfully as my husband. I'm not hurting myself as often as he does, either, so maybe I'm doing something right.

I'll have to check out the 30 day shred...only it doesn't sound as fun as knitting! Someone recently told me that the brain waves that you display while knitting, are the same as the ones you display while meditating...

So, you can relax and have nice things to wear in the end!

That is exactly how I felt about learning to knit and crochet. And then, when I realized my tendonitis would never allow me to get any goodat it, I was so damn relieved. Something I didn't have to do.

knitting? oh brilliant!!!

And if you're like me you'll have to hide the needles from the kids... they make great weapons of mass distruction.

lol I started Jillian's 30 day shred too. I like her, she's mean when she needs to be. It's like she knows when I'm about to stop! Good luck! My pants aren't looser yet, but they aren't tighter either, so hopefully I'll start losing some inches soon too.

See? That is precisely why I avoid crafts ... I am afraid I'll get behind on my general apathy and procrastination.
