Which One, Pick One, This One, Classic

My quilt fabric is washed, ironed and cut. I've been playing with the scraps the past two days trying to figure out which way to configure it so I can move on.

This was my first remotely-happy configuration.

Then I decided to try color coding it. I don't like that. Blech.

This one is Griffin's. He sure liked lining up all the pinks.

This is today's configuration. ::sigh:: I'm not happy with it either. I need to make a decision so I can work on it -- I'm at a stopping point right now.

I'm thinking the first one. What are you thinking?

I vote for Griffin's pick.

Absolutely the first one, it is perfectly balanced(or something makes it look "just right"). Sorry Griff.

I kind of like the last one, but when it comes to quilting, what do I know really?

Did you try putting one color in the corners or edge and then mix up the center? Otherwise I like your last choice.

i'm back.
go with the last one. switch the aqua/green stripe that is in the middle with the green and blue paisley on the right. try that.

you know i am going to obsess over this, right?

I like to blur my eyes when I do this -- it helps me see the tones. I'd either balance lights and darks, or intentionally group the lights and darks into a pattern. The first one is closest to balance, I think.

Darned if I know. I'm still reeling at the amazing idea of planning it using the scraps! I'm always wrestling completed squares and getting everything rumpled in the process.

Perhaps one.

I actually like the first and last one...

I'm thinking honest to goodness your thinking too much about it. :) The fabrics are all gorgeous and all coordinate so any arrangement whether purposeful or accidental will be beautiful. I am a huge fan of scrappy patchwork so unplanned is always my vote.

Definitely the last one. It looks the most blended but also random.

What a cool project! Are you doing a full size quilt?

the first one - OR, try eliminating some of the colors to reduce the number of choices to an odd number, like 7 or 9. :)

I like the first one.

I choose the last one! I usually have my girls help me - that way, I have three sets of eyes. And, when a couple of the same fabrics get sewn too close together, I can ask them what the heck they were thinking putting those fabric that close to each other. Seriously, they really do help me a lot.

First one, definately!

OK, I thought I was the only one... I like the "color coded" one the best. I too, am a Virgo, but have never put much stock in astrology. Just thought it was funny you mentioned it....

I'm thinking i have serious fabric envy. I wanted to order gobs and gobs of that fabric, but I need to buy a new van...so I think the fabric will have to wait. poo.

I like the first one the best.
